Judy's first inclination, following her graduation from New York University, was to follow in her father's footsteps, sharing the family passion for designing and handcrafting the world's most magnificent diamonds. In her early 20s, she traveled daily with her father, master diamond artisan Leo Schachter, to New York's diamond district where she worked in his office, sorting diamonds, and sourcing the best jewelers to mount the most beautiful diamonds she could find in exquisite couture pieces for the most discriminating of private and salon clientele.
Her father's patience and passion guided her through those years as she learned more about diamonds each day she spent with him, developing extraordinary expertise at selecting the finest stones as the focal point for each piece of diamond jewelry and settings that would showcase the singular beauty and brilliance of each handcrafted diamond.
